2011 Recruiting Board

With so much recent activity around the UTSA program, we just want to make sure that no one gets lost in the shuffle.  UTSA recently picked up two more commitments for the 2011 class. A specialist from a nearby area program and a linebacker from one of the state's powerhouse 4A schools.

The commitment list is as follows:

Looks solid so far...I hope we get more recruits during and after the season comes to an end. Go RUNNERS!

I think we need to get a little deeper on the O and D lines, but so far so good. It looks like we are really loading up on DB's

I hope we get 4-6 juco/D1 transfers to come in and sure up some positions so we can compete right away and beat some FCS schools next year.

Coker!! Don't forget to go after those guys that have stars after there name!! Rivals.com called and said they have some guys you should look at!

You know, at this point, it wouldn't be a bad idea to go after some JuCos so we can get some experience in there in time for real competition. I would especially do this at the line.

I have faith that we are picking up the right guys regardless of Rivals ratings. Remember that South Texas is traditionally 'overlooked' by those guys. So in all reality we have a bunch of zero star guys that can go up and compete with the best. Also look at Boise, they know that the coach matters more than the talent. Although in recent years they have had both.

I like your thinking Peligro! Very few of our outstanding players in SA and southward get much attention from D1 recruiting, yet I feel they are just as good and just as deserving.
